A crowd of Santa Clauses ran through town

LATVIA – NEWS

On 11 December, the traditional Father Christmas Run took place in Old part of Riga. Participants in the charity event, now in its 15th year, started from Dome Square.

Anyone who bought a ticket, which came with the costume, was able to take part. Before the start of the race, there were activities on the square with special guests.

The money raised in this charity event will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Mobile Health Centre programme for children in Latvia. «The Mobile Health Centre» allows children under 18 years old living in remote areas of Latvia to receive free medical consultations near their place of residence.

Since 2010, RMHC’s Mobile Health Centre programme has provided over 51 000 free-of-charge consultations to children living in rural areas of Latvia. The Latvian RMHC also works closely with the Children’s Clinical University Hospital.
