A history of English tile work in Adolf von Bingner’s mansion

LATVIA – Dowder National Historical Museum (05/11/2022)

On November 5 at 1 p.m., the Dauderu Department of the Latvian National Museum of History (Zageru Street 7, Sarkandaugava) will host a lecture by Agnese Tambaka «Exclusive English Tile Decorations at Adolf von Bingner’s Mansion. Decorating with 19-20th century ceramic tiles in Riga».

To get a fuller sense of what has been covered in the lecture, a short guided tour of the Dauderu house exhibition has been planned in advance.

The lecture’s author Agnese Tambaka is a doctoral student at the Latvian Academy of Art who has also studied 17th and 19th century Dutch tiles. She is currently writing her doctoral dissertation on the industrial production of wall and floor tiles in Riga at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. Agnese Tambaka works daily in the art research department of the Rundale Palace Museum.

For students – 0.75 euros
