A powerful solar power plant will be built in Latvia

LATVIA – LITHUANIA – ENERGETICS

Vilnius-based Green Genius has announced that it will build a solar power plant in Latvia.
This 100 MW project is currently the largest in Latvia,” said Simonas Šileikis, head of the solar energy department.

The Lithuanian renewable energy developer has acquired the project privately and is currently deciding whether the electricity will be commercialised on the spot market, through utility providers or through power purchase agreements.

The 100 megawatt project is to be located in Jekabpils on the area of approx. 151 ha. Construction work on the power plant will start in June 2023. The total planned investment for this solar project will be approximately 90 million euros. 100 MW of electricity from the new power plant will be sufficient for approximately 41,000 households.
