The American media, citing court documents, reported that on January 31, New Mexico State Attorney’s Office officially charged Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin with manslaughter.
On October 21, 2021, on the set of the film “Rust”, the actor fatally shot Galina Hutchins, a cameraman of Ukrainian descent. The prop gun appeared to contain live ammunition.

In addition to Baldwin, Anna Gutierrez-Reid, who was in charge of weapons and ammunition on set, was similarly charged. Baldwin accidentally shot Gutchins during filming with a Colt revolver, which for some unknown reason contained live ammunition instead of blanks.
If convicted, Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reid could face up to 18 months in prison and a fine of five thousand dollars. However, the fact that firearms are involved in the case could increase the sentence to five years, according to CNN.
