First mock e-examinations

LATVIA – EDUCATION AND SCIENCE (03/11/2022)

According to the «Ministry of Education and Science», on 10 November 2022, pupils in the 12th grade and third-year students of vocational education institutions will have the opportunity to try the centralised exam in electronic format for the first time.

The plan is to take the Advanced English online exam. Participation is voluntary and the result of this exam will not affect students’ semester or yearly grades in any way. In the practice test, students will have to complete 3 listening comprehension tasks, 5 reading tasks and 1 writing task. The total time for the mock exam will be three hours.

Assessment of the exam will be partly automatic, but some assignments will be assessed by assessors registered with the institutions in the national examination information system. In this exam, unlike the official exam, students will be able to use their personal computers to take the exam if necessary.
