Sheba Hospital is one of the world’s top ten hospitals and provided extensive support to hospitals in all regions of the world during the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, on 22 December, Sheba plans to open the world’s first Pandemic Institute to help solve current health problems.

The cooperation agreement between the Children’s Clinical University Hospital and the Schneider Children’s Medical Centre plans to facilitate the exchange of doctors, research nurses and other healthcare professionals, create internship/training opportunities for staff, promote scientific cooperation in areas of mutual interest, and share best practices in treatment, education, research and innovation.

Four memorandums on cooperation in the field of biomedicine were signed at the business forum organised by the Latvian Investment and Development Agency, and negotiations continued with big data companies Google, Microsoft and the pharmaceutical company Roche to launch joint projects, including the development of medical data infrastructure.

One of the priorities of the Ministry of Economics is the development of Latvian science and innovation, including in cooperation with international organisations and corporations, with a particular focus on smart areas in Latvia. There is close cooperation with Latvian start-ups, universities and scientific institutions to achieve innovation development. On 12-13 October 2023, Europe’s leading Precision Medicine Networking Forum will take place in Riga.
