LATVIA – Riga TechGirls (28/10/2022)
According to «Riga TechGirls», this month 200 women from Latvia and Latvians living abroad started free training in the Google-created Work in Tech training programme for women, which is being implemented for the third time by Riga TechGirls association to help women learn basic information technology (IT) skills and promote retraining.

The training cycle is three months long, and the organisers will provide support and advice to graduates of the programme to find suitable jobs in the industry.
The Certified «Work in Tech program» was developed by Google in partnership with Coursera. The programme provides participants with access to a series of practical assignments that give them the opportunity to learn the functions of building and maintaining IT systems in an environment very similar to real-life situations, which is an important key to success in working in an IT environment.
Riga TechGirls is the first organisation in Latvia that helps girls and women learn the basics of computer programming and develop digital literacy skills.
