Putin promised not to kill Zelensky, says former Israeli Prime Minister Bennett

WORLD – NEWS

Last March, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised Naftali Bennett that he would not assassinate Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. This was reported by the Associated Press news agency on Saturday, after Bennett’s remarks about his conversation with Putin were made public.

During the conversation with Putin, many topics were discussed, including the possible fate of Vladimir Zelensky.

I asked him, “What’s with this? Are you planning to kill Zelensky?” Putin replied, “I won’t kill Zelenskyy.” Then I said to him, “I have to understand that you’re giving me your word that you won’t kill Zelenskyy?” And Putin repeated, “I’m not going to kill Zelenskyy.”

Bennett then said he called Zelensky and told him about Putin’s promise not to kill him. “Listen, I came out of a meeting, he’s not going to kill you.” Zelensky asked again: “Are you sure?” I replied, “100% he won’t kill you.”

Bennett also said that during his mediation mission last March, Putin stopped demanding that Ukraine disarm. For his part, Zelenskyy promised that Ukraine would not join NATO.

Earlier, Moscow denied that it was planning to assassinate Zelenskyy. However, the Ukrainian leadership claimed that a group of Chechen special forces had been sent to Kiev to kill him.
