LATVIA – TOURISM
On November 12, 2022, after years of planning and work, the Youth Initiative Centre of Jurmala finally opened in the new recreation park Kauguru in Jurmala. It is affectionately called the Youth House in the city’s youth milieu.
The youth centre has two floors and offers a music and art, technical and technology studio, a kitchen for cooking and relaxing, comfortable poufs and the possibility to watch films on a projector, computers, wireless internet, board games and novus (a Latvian board game). Here you can also study in silence or just relax.

The Youth Council will meet here both for meetings and during events it organises, there will be international projects, film and intrepid storytelling evenings and meetings with politicians. It will also be home to interest groups such as DJ art, a record club, a drone school, skateboarding lessons, as well as yoga and the Sea Scout and Scout organisation.
A great asset is the modern ‘Kauguru Recreation Park’, opened just a few months ago, where you can entertain the little ones, go for walks and visit the skate park.
The youth house and recreation park was established within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund project no. 3.3.1.0./19/I/003 «Establishment of an urban recreation park and youth centre in Kauguris».
