Developing solutions for managing the Polish-Ukrainian border is the theme of the conference.
The 6th International Conference «Polish-Ukrainian Border – Opportunity or Barrier for Development?» will take place in Lublin on 12 and 13 December 2022.

During the conference, the organisers try to develop proposals for solutions to improve the management of the Polish-Ukrainian border in the face of current challenges. In a situation where former Ukrainian transport corridors are partially destroyed and ports are blocked, Poland, thanks to its location, becomes a kind of transport and logistics hub. This is a challenge and an opportunity to intensify cooperation in this area.
Thematic areas of the conference:
– Ensuring the functioning of the country’s export-import and humanitarian organisations;
– The capacity of the EU’s external border;
– Improving the efficiency of border services;
– Improvement of road transport, and increasing the efficiency of rail transport across the Polish-Ukrainian border;
– Legal aspects of the functioning of the border.
The topic of the border in the broad sense – infrastructure and capacity of border crossings, queues, the work of border, customs, phytosanitary and veterinary services, as well as passenger and freight traffic – has been the subject of much debate and discussion for many years. Conference ‘Polish-Ukrainian border – opportunity or barrier for development? A platform for sharing experiences, opinions, presenting existing solutions and identifying directions for change and optimisation.

During the 2 days of the conference speakers representing different environments from Poland and Ukraine will address the sessions divided into the following thematic blocks: legal aspects of border functioning and previous experience, permeability of the EU external border, increasing the efficiency of border services, Poland as a transport and logistics hub in international trade, problems of border crossing for road carriers, increasing the efficiency of rail transport across the Polish-Ukrainian border, new technologies in the service of borders.
