HUNGARY – NEWS
“The war is becoming increasingly bloody and brutal, the number of casualties on both sides is growing, but despite this the number of European countries and leaders supporting peace is not increasing. By increasing arms supplies to Ukraine, most of Europe is still on the side of the war,” Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban told the Myonlineradio radio station.
He said European leaders are already “close to discussing the possibility of EU member states sending peacekeeping forces to Ukraine”.
“We are very close to the line that we used to consider insurmountable,” he said.

Hungary warns of a third world war
“Since the war is taking place in Hungary’s neighbourhood, our own security is also at risk. Many feel that this conflict has the potential to escalate into a world war. Western Europe’s position is based on moral considerations: they believe that the war and Ukraine should be supported. Hungary, however, believes that it is peace that should be supported for moral reasons,” Orban said.
According to the Hungarian leader, his country is under “direct pressure”.
“They want to force us into this war, but whether or not to participate in this conflict can only be decided by the Hungarian parliament.”
Orban also reiterated his previously expressed position on the need for a ceasefire and to prepare the ground for peace talks.
